Charles and Richard Smailes, both extremely well known property auctioneers are using their skills and “gift of the gab” to entertain, delight and extract money from the audiences for two excellent charities in Harrogate. Charles is at The Pavilions, Yorkshire Show Ground and auctioneering for Yorkshire Cancer Centre. Richard is at The Majestic Hotel and plying his trade for The Rainbow Fund.
Richard said “it must be a fairly rare occurrence to have father and son both auctioneering for charities in the same town on the same evening! My father has been doing charity auctions for about forty years now, so I am a mere novice at ten, but we are both delighted to be able to use our skills to enable charities to raise much needed funds”.
