The Governments Mini Budget. How's Property Affected?

The government's mini budget has been released, and the news seems to be generally positive. One particular highlight is the extension of the Energy Price Guarantee, which will help those struggling with high energy bills.

The budget has remained relatively silent on the housing market, which is a welcome relief compared to previous budgets. With the Spring season approaching, we are seeing more properties being valued and more sales being agreed upon, especially for those that were listed before Christmas.

While the Bank of England has yet to confirm whether or not they will change the base rate, it is believed that it will remain unchanged. This is great news for those who are fortunate enough to be living in or wanting to move into "The Golden Triangle," as it seems that it will be business as usual.

Of course, this budget is not without its criticisms. Some have argued that there could have been more done to support struggling businesses and individuals, especially as the pandemic continues to take a toll on the economy.

Despite these criticisms, it is clear that the government has made some positive steps forward. By extending the Energy Price Guarantee, they are helping those who are most in need, and by keeping the housing market stable, they are ensuring that the economy can continue to grow.

immediately following the budget, we have seen enquiry levels increase this morning which is testament to the fact that there are owners and investors who were pleased to see that property as an asset was not directly affected by the budget reinforcing the desire for individuals to invest in property but who were clearly awaiting the outcome of the budget before doing so.

Overall, the government's mini budget is a generally positive one, with some welcome relief for those who are struggling with high energy bills. While there is always more that can be done, it seems that things are looking up for those who are looking to buy or sell a property in the near future.
