Harrogate Auction Purchase Transformed for Rental

One of our latest rental properties was bought at our property auction 18 months ago and has been tastefully transformed into a modern family home.

The three-bedroom detached in St Catherine’s Road had a guide price of £250,000 in our July 2015 auction.

Unsurprisingly, given its location in the popular Saints area close to St Aidan’s High School, there was a lot of interest and the property sold for £378,000 – 50% more than the guide price.

Since then the owners have invested significantly in the house, renovating it to create a modern and spacious family home.

It has been extended and now offers four double bedrooms, two with en-suite shower rooms.

There is also a spacious open plan kitchen dining area with bi-folding doors opening out onto a private patio and extensive gardens.

The house is now available to rent for £2,500 per calendar month and residential lettings manager Sarah Johnston says the refurbishment demonstrates just how much can be achieved through careful investment and tasteful restoration.

“The location of this house in one of Harrogate’s most sought-after areas meant it was always going to be a good buy at auction,” Sarah says.

“The investors have thought carefully about how to make the most of the property and extend it in such a way that it appeals to the lifestyle of modern families who are looking for somewhere close to good schools and within walking distance of the town centre and railway station.

“The money they have spent on extending it and fitting it out to such a high standard means they have added significantly to its value and created a very desirable home.”
