FSS’s expert auctioneer Charles Smailes once again put his skills to good use when he helped raise an amazing £11,250 for worthy causes.
Charles, who is very much in demand as a charity auctioneer, was at The Country Ball on Bonfire Night, held in the grounds of Ripley Castle.
The event was first launched in 2010 by a small committee with the aim of helping to raise money for children's charities in our region, while creating a special and unique evening for guests.
The ball was held in nine linked Papakata Teepees, with internal open fires and candle lighting.
Charles said: “It was a magical setting and the 12 lots made a total of £11,250 for the three charities - Yorkshire Air Ambulance, When You Wish Upon A Star, and Craniosynostosis Research.
“I was delighted to be able to help raise so much money for such worthy causes and am grateful to everyone who attended and took part in the auction.”
